One Week Diet Plan

There are numerous diet plans available for quick weight loss, including weight loss that can be accomplished in as little as one week. Although all constitute a considerable change in dieting habits, none require dieters to starve themselves.


Keep Calories in Check


One strategy to lose weight in a week's time is simply to cut 500 calories a day for seven days. That's a total of 3,500 calories and can mean up to two or three pounds of weight loss. This might require you to keep track of your calories the week before dieting, just so you get an idea of what types of foods need to be eliminated.


Go For Protein


High-protein, low-carb and low-fat diets can help dieters lose weight in as little as five days. This means eating smaller meals throughout the day that consist of things such as fish, turkey, chicken and other lean meats and avoiding processed, starchy foods such as bagels and potatoes. Snacks can consist of protein shakes or low-calorie protein bars. To lose weight quicker, each serving of meat should be no larger than the size of your fist.


Fruits & Veggies Only


A diet consisting solely of fruits and vegetables can result in quick, noticeable weight loss. This diet eliminates meats of any kind and avoids high-fat, high-calorie items such as cheese or pastry. The nice thing about this diet is you can typically eat as many fruits and vegetables as you like and still lose weight, provided the fruits and vegetables are raw and not canned or frozen.


Liquify


Liquid diets are a form of "crash" dieting that tend to result in extreme hunger. But done right, healthy ones can give dieters an increased amount of energy and take off weight quickly. The best type of liquid diet involves "juicing" raw fruits and vegetables and drinking them throughout the day. In order for this to be possible, dieters will need to own a juicer (typically in the $60 to $300 range). This is also a diet in which you can drink freely and still lose weight--again, provided the fruits and vegetables are raw.


Shake It Up


Protein-shake programs such as those offered by Slim-Fast are a safe, effective way to lose weight within a week. This involves replacing two meals per day with a "replacement shake," then eating a light meal for dinner. You can also have a few snacks each day around your shakes and still lose weight, provided the snacks are low in calories.
