Wrist Bands For Seasickness

When it occurs in a boat, motion sickness is known as seasickness. This usually happens because of an inner-ear problem that makes people feel as though they - rather than the boat or water - are moving, even when they are standing still. Wrist bands for seasickness, designed to apply pressure to the wrists of the wearer, are available in several different types and sizes.

Bio Bands

Bio Bands are designed to be worn on the wrists and apply pressure to the pulse point of the wrists, mimicking the technique of acupuncture. Bio Bands are adjustable, reusable and contain a pressure bead. Bio Bands are available over-the-counter and should be placed on the wrist before seasickness symptoms occur.

Sea Bands

Like Bio Bands, Sea Bands have the same basic principal: applying pressure to the pulse point of the wrists to help combat seasickness. A plastic stud, located in each band, is designed to provide pressure, while the adjustable fabric band helps to secure it in place. Sea Bands come in two different sizes - one for adults and one for children - and must be worn on both wrists in order to be effective.

No-Qweez Bands

Like Sea Bands and Bio Bands, No-Qweez Bands are designed to be applied to the pulse point of the wrist. Unlike the other two types, however, No-Qweez bands have a small, raised bump located on the outside, rather than on the inside of the band. This may make the band easier to position in some cases. No-Qweez bands fit both adults and children, and are reusable and washable. They must be worn on both wrists for maximum effectiveness.
