Natural Way Of Getting Rid Of Freckles

There are many people worldwide who are born with freckles. There are also many more people who develop them as they age due to overexposure to the sun. Freckles are a form of darkened skin pigmentation that are usually identified as small spots less than half a centimeter in diameter. Regardless of how people acquire them, most want to know get rid of the unsightly freckles, or at least lighten them.


Lemon Juice


Many people remove their freckles with laser treatment, using bleaching creams containing hydroquinone or by chemical peels. However, there are many natural ways to remove, or lighten, your freckles that aren't nearly as harsh on your skin. One of the most common and natural ways to lighten and remove freckles is to apply lemon juice. While you may not think it is very appealing to wash your face in lemon juice, it has been proven to lighten freckles. Your freckles may even disappear. However, you should be aware that if you do not take the necessary precautions such as using sunscreen when you are out in the sun, then the freckles will reappear.


Facial Mask


Like lemons, there are many more fruits that have an active ingredient in them that reduces the appearance of freckles. If you enjoy applying facial masks, then you should consider trying a fruit mask to help with your freckles. A few of the common fruit masks available are apricot, cucumber, strawberry and red currant. Another type of facial mask known to lighten freckles is sour cream. You just apply sour cream directly to your face and after a few minutes just wipe it off with a soft towel or tissue. Then, apply moisturizer to your skin. It is important that you don't wash your face before applying the moisturizer.


Prevention


Once you have successfully lightened or removed your freckles, you will want to take the appropriate steps to prevent them from coming back. To do this, you will need to start using sunscreen with SPF 30, anything less will not prevent freckles from returning. Also, increase your vitamin C intake. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that will build up your skin's resistance to the harmful rays of the sun. This helps fight age spots such as freckles, liver spots, Melasma and uneven skin tone color from forming.
