Medtronic 80180721 Instructions

Defibrillators are electronic devices that provide an electrical shock to the heart when abnormal activity is detected. They come in a wide variety of formats from surgically implanted devices to stationary machines. The Medtronic 801807-21 is a replacement battery charger for the Physio-Control Lifepak 1000 series of portable defibrillators. These portable defibrillators are generally given to patients who wish to maintain a normal pace of life, but are threatened by the possibility of heart attack. Understanding properly use your replacement battery charger is extremely important, as it can mean the difference between life and death.


Instructions


1. Remove the battery cover from the back of your Physio-Control portable defibrillator. The battery cover can be removed by simply pulling on it in the direction signified on the cover.


2. Remove the battery from the defibrillator, and insert a fully charged replacement if necessary.


3. Plug your Medtronic 801807-21 charger into an electrical outlet.


4. Connect the removed battery to the charging cables on the Medtronic 801807-21. There are two cables that need to connect to the battery, and they should snap into place on the conductors at the top lip of the battery. The LED light on the front face of the Medtronic 801807-21 should change from red to green when the battery has fully charged.
