Many homes and businesses use wireless networks. To achieve a wireless network connection, you need both hardware and software. One component of this type of connection is the USB wireless adapter.
USB
USB stands for Universal Serial Bus which is a data transfer port. You can use a USB port to connect periphery devices, store data on external hard drives, and connect to the Internet or other network with a USB adapter.
Remote Access
Remote access is the ability to read and manipulate files on a dedicated server from a remote or alternate location. You must have a network connection and the appropriate credentials in order to access the remote server. If you are unable to access the remote server, you might have a network connectivity issue.
Connectivity
The USB adapter used to connect to the Internet serves as a receiver. It picks up the signal that is broadcasted by the wireless router in your home or office. Verify that the router is plugged in and that it is effectively broadcasting a network signal. If service has been interrupted, power cycle both your computer and the router. Turn off both devices, wait 30 seconds, and then turn on both devices. If the router doesn't broadcast a signal, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to resolve connectivity issues.
